Scenes from Puerto Madero in Buenos Aires
In February 2023, Keith and I flew from Chicago to Buenos Aires, Argentina, for a five-day visit before boarding the Marina, a ship in the Oceania Cruises fleet. We stayed in a hotel in Puerto Madero, the site of the first Buenos Aires port designed for cargo and passenger ships. Soon after its completion, however, the port became largely obsolete due to increasing ship size. Today, Puerto Madero has been rejuvenated with rehabbed warehouses and sleek modern high-rise condominiums and business towers (see images below):
